Cinnamon leaf oil is a spicy oil and this oil is highly regarded in aromatherapy. It also helps you fight exhaustion, depression and weakness. It fights cold, influenza and flu and due to its powerful anti-rheumatic properties it helps with rheumatism and arthritis by blending it with other massage oils or by diluting it in the bath. It also strengthens your digestive system by stimulating the secretion of digestive juices. Further it also acts as an anti-vomit agent. Cinnamon leaf oil can be used for infection of the respiratory tract, rheumatism, arthritis and general pains and it generally tones the entire human body and stimulates the glandular system, and consequently, easing menstrual pains. It is not recommended to be used in skin care products. The cinnamon leaf essential oil is extracted by water or steam distillation from the leaves of cinnamon -- a tropical evergreen growing up to 15m high, with strong branches and thick scabrous bark (oil is also extracted from the bark). It blends well with the following oils and spices: balsam peru, caraway, chamomile, frankincense, ginger, nutmeg, rosemary, black pepper, coriander, frankincense, and citrus oils. Although cinnamon is a native of Indonesia it is also cultivated in India and Sri Lanka. The ancient Greeks used to use it as a temple incense and it was a vital trade commodity between India and China for many centuries.
