Neroli Essential oils is produced from the blossoms of the Bitter orange (citrus aurantium) trees. These blossoms are small, white and very fragrent. Jeanne Rose, aromatherapist and author of "375 Essential Oils and Hydrosols" explains that neroli works well to help rejuvenate dry and weathered skin. Davis says that neroli's properties include stimulating cell regeneration, which makes it useful for helping restore and repair dry skin. Considered safe for use during pregnancy, neroli oil can help prevent stretch marks. Blending neroli oil into a cream with other oils such as mandarin works especially well. Rose explains that she uses neroli to also help relieve stress-related insomnia, as neroli also has a very mild sedative effect. Including a few drops in a warm bath further increases the relaxing and tension-relieving effects prior to heading to bed. Relive Stomach Cramps If you suffer intestinal distress like stomach cramping, neroli may be able to help. Davis and Rose both classify neroli as working as an anti-spasmodic, meaning it helps relieve muscle spasms. Performing a light abdominal massage with the neroli oil often relieves cramping.
